The much-loved annual arts festival will take place on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd October 2025, promising two unforgettable evenings of creativity and colour.

What is Light Night Leeds?
First launched in 2005, Light Night Leeds has grown into one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from across Yorkshire and beyond. For two nights only, iconic buildings, streets, and public spaces across Leeds are transformed with light projections, sculptures, music, dance, and interactive artworks.
Each year follows a different theme, with artists from around the world creating installations that celebrate Leeds’ culture, community, and innovation.

Highlights to Expect in 2025
While the full programme has yet to be revealed, visitors can expect:
Large-scale light projections on some of Leeds’ most recognisable landmarks.
Family-friendly trails of illuminated artworks throughout the city centre.
Pop-up performances including dance, theatre, and live music.
Interactive installations designed to get visitors involved.
Food and drink stalls bringing a festival atmosphere to the streets.
Based on previous years, locations such as Leeds Civic Hall, Millennium Square, and The Queens Hotel are likely to host some of the festival’s biggest centrepieces.
